Weathering The Storms

There is never a boring moment in my West Texas skies. Take, for instance, this cloud formation that occurred this summer.

Yes folks we have rotation. It was such an amazing sight to see, to watch from a distance and not be afraid. All because I have a clear view of what may be coming.

I can just watch from my front porch and marvel at the force of nature. I like when I can see treacherous weather coming from a distance. I can face it head on. Prepare myself. Unlike the ones that sneak up on you on the darkest of nights. Or those that come hidden in a cloak of forceful wind, rain and hail.

Another good thing about these storms is that not just I can see them coming, but everyone else can too. So even if you neglected to see the gigantic twirling cloud forming right outside, your neighbor hasn't. And being the good neighbor she is, she'll give you a call to make sure you are aware of the potentially dangerous storm lurking in the distance. She'll also volunteer to bring some extra chairs to your storm shelter, so you can ride it out together if need be.
So tell me, how do you weather your writing storms and is there someone there to ride it out with you?

Great pictures, Kara. I've never seen funnels before.

I weather my writing storms with blog friends really. I don't know what I'd do without you guys, I've been so secluded here that without internet I wouldn't have survived this journey this long.

Eek! I've never seen clouds like that. It's a little freaky.

Funny you should mention writing storms. LOL I'm posting about mine tomorrow.
My blogging friends and writing friends are really awesome. I know I can complain to a whole bunch of people and they'll commiserate, then encourage me to keep on going. :-)

I agree Jessica and Eileen having blogging friends has been such an encouragement and wonderful way to ride out those storms:)

Great pictures. I marvel at the force of nature - I've seen floods, tornadoes and hurricanes. Not crazy about any of them! But they are a reminder of the power of God.

I've seen one water spout tornado thing near my home but never storm clouds like that !Wow! I am glad you all were safe!
My husband weathers my storms with me-- when I get rejections etc.
Glad you stopped by again! I needed to get back over here and to your MIL's blog!

Thanks Aimee! Warren, I am also always amazed by the force of nature. Terri, thanks for stopping by again...I think I've done a lot of lurking on your blog but don't always get to comment;)

Wow - those are some amazing pictures. Hope everyone was safe.

Unfortunately, during most of my writing career, I was uterly alone. That I got as much done as I did is a miracle. Later, God joined me up with a lovely writing friend.

Wow those are great pics!
Here in Idaho, things like tornadoes, earthquakes, etc. are more the exception than the rule and everyone gets downright excited when one occurs. As for my own "storms" - well I usually weather those alone for the most part.
